West Bloomfield High School - University Acceptance

University Acceptance

As stated before, the school is a top feeder school to the major universities in the state of Michigan, University of Michigan and Michigan State University. Yearly, sixty to eighty students gain acceptance into the University of Michigan, while fifty to sixty students go to Michigan State University. 94% of graduating seniors go to college, mostly to four-year colleges. About fifteen students each year gain acceptance into the Ivy League universities, this is roughly three percent of the graduating class.

Famous quotes containing the words university and/or acceptance:

I am not willing to be drawn further into the toils. I cannot accede to the acceptance of gifts upon terms which take the educational policy of the university out of the hands of the Trustees and Faculty and permit it to be determined by those who give money.
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)

One of the oddest features of western Christianized culture is its ready acceptance of the myth of the stable family and the happy marriage. We have been taught to accept the myth not as an heroic ideal, something good, brave, and nearly impossible to fulfil, but as the very fibre of normal life. Given most families and most marriages, the belief seems admirable but foolhardy.
    Jonathan Raban (b. 1942)
