Censorship Controversy
In 2005, Pope John XXIII Regional High School enforced a rule stating that no student was to be on social networking, such as Myspace, with students found to be using the sites facing potential suspension. Many students were upset by this act, as some viewed it as an act of censorship, though McHugh said "I don't see this as censorship," and noted that the ban was part of an effort to teach civility to students.

Famous quotes containing the words censorship and/or controversy:
“... a phallocentric culture is more likely to begin its censorship purges with books on pelvic self-examination for women or books containing lyrical paeans to lesbianism than with See Him Tear and Kill Her or similar Mickey-Spillanesque titles.”
—Robin Morgan (b. 1941)
“Ours was a highly activist administration, with a lot of controversy involved ... but Im not sure that it would be inconsistent with my own political nature to do it differently if I had it to do all over again.”
