Lord Family

The Lord family is an original and the central family of fictional characters on the American soap opera One Life to Live. The ensemble was featured from the series debut in July 1968 through the original OLTL television finale in January 2012, and in continuity on sister soap opera General Hospital since February 2012.

Prominently a family of media proprietors, publishers, and journalists, the Lords are first introduced as the affluent WASP foil to the working-class Irish Catholic Rileys and Polish American Woleks, with early storylines focusing on their interpersonal bonds. The lives and relationships of Victor Lord, Sr., his children Victoria, Meredith, Tony, Tina, Todd, and Victor, Jr., and descendants form the primary plot of One Life to Live.

Famous quotes containing the words lord and/or family:

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail—its roof may shake—the wind may blow through it—the storm may enter—the rain may enter—but the King of England cannot enter!—all his forces dare not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement!
William Pitt, The Elder, Lord Chatham (1708–1778)

The family environment in which your children are growing up is different from that in which you grew up. The decisions our parents made and the strategies they used were developed in a different context from what we face today, even if the “content” of the problem is the same. It is a mistake to think that our own experience as children and adolescents will give us all we need to help our children. The rules of the game have changed.
    Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
