Florida State Road 809
State Road 809, locally known as Military Trail, is a six-lane divided highway which, like the nearby similar north–south State Road 811 and State Road 807, serves the dual purposes of commuting alternatives to the Florida's Turnpike and Interstate 95 (State Road 9). The road currently runs from an intersection with Lake Worth Road (SR 802) in Greenacres north to an intersection with Blue Heron Boulevard (SR 708) in Riviera Beach.
Military Trail continues further south into Broward County (without FDOT or County designation) until its southern terminus at Sample Road (State Road 834), which serves as the boundary between Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach. The road continues as Andrews Avenue Extension into Pompano Beach.

Famous quotes containing the words florida, state and/or road:
“In Florida consider the flamingo,
Its color passion but its neck a question.”
—Robert Penn Warren (19051989)
“Every natural fact is a symbol of some spiritual fact. Every appearance in nature corresponds to some state of the mind, and that state of the mind can only be described by presenting that natural appearance as its picture.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Such were the first rude beginnings of a town. They spoke of the practicability of a winter road to the Moosehead Carry, which would not cost much, and would connect them with steam and staging and all the busy world. I almost doubted if the lake would be there, the self-same lake, preserve its form and identity, when the shores should be cleared and settled; as if these lakes and streams which explorers report never awaited the advent of the citizen.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
