Famous quotes containing the words college, world and/or series:

    When first the college rolls receive his name,
    The young enthusiast quilts his ease for fame;
    Through all his veins the fever of renown
    Burns from the strong contagion of the gown;
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

    At the heart of all beauty lies something inhuman, and these hills, the softness of the sky, the outline of these trees at this very minute lose the illusory meaning with which we had clothed them, henceforth more remote than a lost paradise ... that denseness and that strangeness of the world is absurd.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

    A sophistical rhetorician, inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity, and gifted with an egotistical imagination that can at all times command an interminable and inconsistent series of arguments to malign an opponent and to glorify himself.
    Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881)
