Hugues is the main protagonist of the Jack Whyte novel Knights of the Black and White.
In the video game Deus Ex the protagonist visits a Cathedral de Payens, named most likely after Hugues de Payens. In game the cathedral hosts the entire gold reserve of the former templars.
