Famous quotes containing the words waldo, salt and/or award:

    Life will show you masks that are worth all of your carnivals.
    —Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

    The salt person and blasted place
    I furnish with the meat of a fable;
    If the dead starve, their stomachs turn to tumble
    An upright man in the antipodes
    Or spray-based and rock-chested sea:
    Over the past table I repeat this present grace.
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

    The award of a pure gold medal for poetry would flatter the recipient unduly: no poem ever attains such carat purity.
    Robert Graves (1895–1985)
