Vortex (Kings Island)
Vortex is a steel roller coaster at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Designed and built by Arrow Dynamics, the ride officially opened on April 11, 1987 as the tallest full-circuit roller coaster in the United States featuring the highest drop in the world. It was also the first to feature six inversions. Vortex is located on the former site once occupied by The Bat, a suspended roller coaster removed after the 1984 operating season.
