On July 4, 2011 weekend as a train was pulling out of the station, the computer detected damage to the chain. The computer stopped the train and all of the passengers were able to safely exit the car, this only shut down the Vortex for a few days as Kings Island ordered the correct part and later re-opened the ride on July 29, 2011.
