Vasundhara Raje married Hemant Singh, of the ex-royal Dholpur family, on 17 November 1972, but the couple separated a year later. However she has been claiming her relationship with Dholpur Jat royalty during her election campaigns. Her son Dushyant Singh was elected to the Lok Sabha from her former constituency, Jhalawar.
