Professional Wrestling Match Types - Champion Vs. Champion Match

Champion Vs. Champion Match

This match is played between two reigning champions, for example World Heavyweight Champion (WWE) vs. WWE Champion or World Heavyweight Champion (WWE) vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion. These matches are generally played when there are contests between two promotions or brands. The rules are similar to a Singles Match as a player can win via Pinfall, Submission, Disqualification and Countout. This doesn't mean that the winner would get his opponent's title, unless the match is contested for either one or both titles, such as a title unification match.

Famous quotes containing the words champion and/or match:

Let’s not quibble! I’m the foe of moderation, the champion of excess. If I may lift a line from a die-hard whose identity is lost in the shuffle, “I’d rather be strongly wrong than weakly right.”
    Tallulah Bankhead (1903–1968)

The ease with which problems are understood and solved on paper, in books and magazine articles, is never matched by the reality of the mother’s experience. . . . Her child’s behavior often does not follow the storybook version. Her own feelings don’t match the way she has been told she ought to feel. . . . There is something wrong with either her child or her, she thinks. Either way, she accepts the blame and guilt.
    Elaine Heffner (20th century)
