Violent Tendencies
Like his uncle, Leonetti had an unpredictable, violent temper. He was married to an Italian-American woman but dated a waitress at the Brajole Cafe, a night club and restaurant located at 2233 Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey where he, Nicky Scarfo, Joseph Salerno and his construction business associates usually dined 'free of charge'. Once while talking to associate Joseph Salerno Jr., he took a bread knife from the kitchen, grabbed her around the head, and put the knife to her throat. He nicked her so that he drew blood. When he saw the way Salerno reacted to his actions, he said, "Don't worry, she don't mind. It doesn't hurt, and besides, it shows her who's boss."

Famous quotes containing the words violent and/or tendencies:
“There was the murdered corpse, in covert laid,
And violent death in thousand shapes displayed;
The city to the soldiers rage resigned;
Successless wars, and poverty behind;
Ships burnt in fight, or forced on rocky shores,
And the rash hunter strangled by the boars;
The newborn babe by nurses overlaid;
And the cook caught within the raging fire he made.”
—Geoffrey Chaucer (1340?1400)
“Hence it will not do for the Landlord to possess too fine a nature.... He must have no idiosyncracies, no particular bents or tendencies to this or that, but a general, uniform, and healthy development, such as his portly person indicates, offering himself equally on all sides to men.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
