Famous quotes containing the words high school, bend, high and/or school:
“Someday soon, we hope that all middle and high school will have required courses in child rearing for girls and boys to help prepare them for one of the most important and rewarding tasks of their adulthood: being a parent. Most of us become parents in our lifetime and it is not acceptable for young people to be steeped in ignorance or questionable folklore when they begin their critical journey as mothers and fathers.”
—James P. Comer (20th century)
“Nothing and no one can destroy the Chinese people. They are relentless survivors. They are the oldest civilized people on earth. Their civilization passes through phases but its basic characteristics remain the same. They yield, they bend to the wind, but they never break.”
—Pearl S. Buck (18921973)
“Gifts of one loved me,
T was high time they came;
When he ceased to love me,
Time they stopped for shame.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber.”
