List Of Current Major League Soccer Players

This is a list of current Major League Soccer players (as of February 16, 2012). There is also a list of current MLS coaches, and a list of current American soccer players by US state. To appear on this list, a player must be currently signed to an MLS team, with the exception of players in the league-wide reserve goalkeeper pool. If an MLS player is currently out of contract but his Major League Soccer rights are still held by a team, he remains on the list until his status is clearly established. Players on loan to MLS teams may also be included, and are indicated with a "" symbol.

Players are alphabetized by primary surname, with the exception of players known primarily by a single name, who are alphabetized by that name.

    And powder horn, and Major Bogan’s face
    Above the fire, in the half-light, plainly said
    There’s naught to kill but the animated dead;

Learn compassion if we are indifferent? Perceive academics as important if soccer practice is a higher priority than homework?
    Fred G. Gosman (20th century)

    I do not like football, which I think of as a game in which two tractors approach each other from opposite directions and collide. Besides, I have contempt for a game in which players have to wear so much equipment. Men play basketball in their underwear, which seems just right to me.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
