Kid Azteca - Success

Success

  • In 1933, Kid Azteca obtained the Mexican Welterweight title.
  • Azteca was still remembered by his fans some twenty years after his last fight, the Spanish boxing publication Ring En Español featuring him many times on magazine articles.
  • Azteca had 191 wins, 46 losses and 12 ties as a professional boxer, with 112 knockout wins. His knockouts made him a member of the exclusive group of fighters that won 50 or more fights by knockout through their careers, and it also constituted a knockout record for Hispanic fighters, until Julio César Chávez broke it forty years later.

Famous quotes containing the word success:

Men of extraordinary success, in their honest moments, have always sung, “Not unto us, not unto us.” According to the faith of their times, they have built altars to Fortune, or to Destiny, or to St. Julian. Their success lay in their parallelism to the course of thought, which found in them an unobstructed channel; and the wonders of which they were the visible conductors seemed to their eye their deed.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Success is the space one occupies in the newspaper. Success is one day’s insolence.
    Elias Canetti (b. 1905)
