Death

Gracie Allen fought a long battle with heart disease, ultimately dying of a heart attack in Hollywood in 1964. She was interred in a crypt at the Freedom Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Burns was interred at her side when he died 32 years later. ("Gracie Allen and George Burns—Together Again," reads the engraving on the marker.)

Famous quotes containing the word death:

Of Mans First Disobedience, and the Fruit
Of that Forbidden Tree, whose mortal taste
Brought Death into the World, and all our woe,
With loss of Eden, till one greater Man
Restore us, and regain the blissful Seat,
Sing Heav’nly Muse, that on the secret top
Of Oreb, or of Sinai, didst inspire
That Shepherd, who first taught the chosen Seed,
In the Beginning how the Heav’ns and Earth
    Rose out of Chaos:
    John Milton (1608–1674)

Yet always when I look death in the face,
When I clamber to the heights of sleep,
Or when I grow excited with wine,
    Suddenly I meet your face.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

Why wait for Death to mow?
why wait for Death to sow
    us in the ground?
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)
