Awards and Recognition
In 1994 Tullock was awarded an honorary Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and in 1998 became a distinguished fellow of the American Economic Association. He served as President of the Southern Economic Association], the Western Economic Association and the Public Choice Society. In 1996 he was elected to the American Political Science Revie Hall of Fame. He is sometimes considered a longshot candidate for the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.
