FK Vardar - Supporters

Supporters

FK Vardar supporters are known as Komiti (Macedonian: Комити). 'Komiti' are the first organized supporters group of Vardar and they were founded on 4 June 1987 in Skopje, at the match between Vardar and Crvena Zvezda. Komiti Skopje during the SFRY was one of the better tifo groups represented fear and trembling for each tifo group that dared to arrive in Skopje. How passed Gypsies (Delije) and Grobari only they know, Torcida Split was totally destroyed, and fans of Priština massacred. Firma Novi Sad twice arrived in Skopje and always passed without incident for the simple reason that with them had good relations. Through their existence they left significant seal in the history of Vardar and with their support at the matches they have always been the 12th player of the team. 'Komiti' have followed Vardar on many away matches in former Yugoslavia, all over Macedonia and everywhere across Europe. 'KOMITI' also have active members outside of Macedonia, in places like Australia, America, Sweden and Germany (Frankfurt, Duesseldorf, Bremen or Nuremberg). These help them particularly with away games of FK Vardar or the Macedonian national team. FK Vardar is club which is supported nearly by all Macedonians worldwide, club that has the greatest support and which is a symbol of the Macedonians and Macedonia in the world. 'Komiti' have great relations with Teteks fans 'Vojvodi' and fans of the German giants Schalke 04.

Famous quotes containing the word supporters:

The opposition is indispensable. A good statesman, like any other sensible human being, always learns more from his opponents than from his fervent supporters. For his supporters will push him to disaster unless his opponents show him where the dangers are. So if he is wise he will often pray to be delivered from his friends, because they will ruin him. But though it hurts, he ought also to pray never to be left without opponents; for they keep him on the path of reason and good sense.
    Walter Lippmann (1889–1974)

His [O.J. Simpson’s] supporters lined the freeway to cheer him on Friday and commentators talked about his tragedy. Did those people see the photographs of the crime scene and the great blackening pools of blood seeping into the sidewalk? Did battered women watch all this on television and realize more vividly than ever before that their lives were cheap and their pain inconsequential?
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

No Government can be long secure without a formidable Opposition. It reduces their supporters to that tractable number which can be managed by the joint influences of fruition and hope. It offers vengeance to the discontented, and distinction to the ambitious; and employs the energies of aspiring spirits, who otherwise may prove traitors in a division or assassins in a debate.
    Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881)
