Holy Cross, a Division I school, is not allowed to participate in the ECAC East playoffs, nor is the team eligible for the Division III national tournament.
The same is true for Saint Anselm College and St. Michael's, which are Division II schools. However, their primary conference, the D-II Northeast Ten Conference, sponsors a post-season tournament involving the six member schools that play down to the Division III level in men's hockey. (The other four teams play in the ECAC Northeast.) Saint Anselm College and St. Michael's are thus considered to be members of both the ECAC East and the Northeast Ten in men's hockey.

Famous quotes containing the word members:
“I rejoice that horses and steers have to be broken before they can be made the slaves of men, and that men themselves have some wild oats still left to sow before they become submissive members of society. Undoubtedly, all men are not equally fit subjects for civilization; and because the majority, like dogs and sheep, are tame by inherited disposition, this is no reason why the others should have their natures broken that they may be reduced to the same level.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The damned are in the abyss of Hell, as within a woeful city, where they suffer unspeakable torments, in all their senses and members, because as they have employed all their senses and their members in sinning, so shall they suffer in each of them the punishment due to sin.”
—St. Francis De Sales (15671622)
“The English people believes itself to be free; it is gravely mistaken; it is free only during election of members of parliament; as soon as the members are elected, the people is enslaved; it is nothing. In the brief moment of its freedom, the English people makes such a use of that freedom that it deserves to lose it.”
—Jean-Jacques Rousseau (17121778)
