Dudley Town - Contemporary Sightings

Contemporary Sightings

Footage has purportedly been captured of restless spirits in the area and hikers have reported seeing orbs in the area. Some visitors claim that the area is unusually quiet and without wildlife, although others have found it to be a perfectly normal forested area, full of birds and other wildlife.

The land on which Dudleytown used to stand is now in private ownership and trespassers are not allowed; fan sites state that trespassers have been arrested for trying to visit the ruins.

An independent film is now in post-production about Dudleytown (Spring-2012) - a place the actor, Dan Aykroyd, reportedly called "the scariest place on Earth" in an interview with Playboy Magazine, although he mistakenly said it was in Massachusetts. The independent film is called "Dudleytown Curse - the 49th key" which is now in post-production. Eight members of the cast and crew of the independent film production were arrested by Connecticut State Police for allegedly trespassing on private land that comprises Dudleytown. Teaser footage of the independent film can be viewed on YouTube under the title "Dudleytown Curse - Teaser Footage - Scariest Place on Earth.

Famous quotes containing the word contemporary:

Literature that is not the breath of contemporary society, that dares not transmit the pains and fears of that society, that does not warn in time against threatening moral and social dangers—such literature does not deserve the name of literature; it is only a façade. Such literature loses the confidence of its own people, and its published works are used as wastepaper instead of being read.
    Alexander Solzhenitsyn (b. 1918)
