Managing Career

Following his playing career, Ault served as a manager in the Blue Jays organization for the Single-A teams Dunedin, Kinston and St. Catharines. He was promoted to manage his former club, the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs of the International League in 1985, where he managed them to a pennant that same season, the first in club history. Famous quotes containing the words managing and/or career:

There is not much less vexation in the government of a private family than in the managing of an entire state.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

It is a great many years since at the outset of my career I had to think seriously what life had to offer that was worth having. I came to the conclusion that the chief good for me was freedom to learn, think, and say what I pleased, when I pleased. I have acted on that conviction... and though strongly, and perhaps wisely, warned that I should probably come to grief, I am entirely satisfied with the results of the line of action I have adopted.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
