The Daytona Beach ThunderBirds were an arena football team based in Daytona Beach, Florida. Founded in 2005 as the Daytona Thunder, they played in three different indoor football leagues over three seasons: the American Indoor Football League in 2006, the World Indoor Football League in 2007, and the af2, the Arena Football League's developmental league, in 2008 (when their name was changed to the ThunderBirds). They folded after the 2008 season.

Famous quotes containing the words beach, thunder and/or birds:
“On the beach at night,
Stands a child with her father,
Watching the east, the autumn sky.
Up through the darkness,
While ravening clouds, the burial clouds, in black masses spreading,
Lower sullen and fast athwart and down the sky,”
—Walt Whitman (18191892)
“So gladly, from the songs of modern speech
Men turn, and see the stars, and feel the free
Shrill wind beyond the close of heavy flowers,
And through the music of the languid hours,
They hear like ocean on a western beach
The surge and thunder of the Odyssey.”
—Andrew Lang (18441912)
“The sun descending in the west,
The evening star does shine;
The birds are silent in their nest,
And I must seek for mine.”
—William Blake (17571827)
