Storm Names
The following names were used for named storms that formed in the northeast Pacific in 2002. The names not retired from this list were used again in the 2008 Pacific hurricane season. This is the same list used for the 1996 season. Names that were not assigned are marked in gray.

In addition to these, three central Pacific names, taken from a list used for storms forming in the jurisdiction of the Central Pacific Hurricane Center, were used during this season — Alika, Ele, and Huko.
