Worf - Critical and Fan Reception

Critical and Fan Reception

Worf is a popular character among fans. The episode "Heart of Glory", which focuses on Worf and his relationship to other Klingons, is credited with planting "many seeds for successive Klingon storylines ... and new insights into Klingon culture".

In 1995, with TNG over, the writers of DS9 came up with the idea of adding Worf to the cast in response to pressure to boost ratings.

Filk artists Ookla the Mok included a song about Worf entitled "Mr. W" on their 2003 album Oh Okay LA.

Musician Voltaire wrote a song called "Worf's Rap" for his EP Banned on Vulcan.

Famous quotes containing the words critical, fan and/or reception:

It is critical vision alone which can mitigate the unimpeded operation of the automatic.
    Marshall McLuhan (1911–1980)

Already nature is serving all those uses which science slowly derives on a much higher and grander scale to him that will be served by her. When the sunshine falls on the path of the poet, he enjoys all those pure benefits and pleasures which the arts slowly and partially realize from age to age. The winds which fan his cheek waft him the sum of that profit and happiness which their lagging inventions supply.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Aesthetic emotion puts man in a state favorable to the reception of erotic emotion.... Art is the accomplice of love. Take love away and there is no longer art.
    Rémy De Gourmont (1858–1915)
