Congee - Laos

Laos

In Laos, congee is called khào piak: literally "rice wet" (Lao: ເຂົ້າປຽກ, ). It is usually eaten for breakfast or during cold weather. Lao congee is cooked with rice and chicken broth or water. It is prepared similarly to Thai congee, and various spices, herbs, seasonings and sometimes eggs are added.
