Since the fall of 2010, Rivera has been dating Minnesota Timberwolves point guard José Juan Barea. In July 2011, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together. Rivera gave birth to Sebastián José Barea Rivera in Minnesota on February 18, 2012. Barea was present during the birth.
