Young Pioneers of China - Organization

Organization

According to the Young Pioneers constitution, each school or village organizes a Sturm (simplified Chinese: 大队; traditional Chinese: 大隊; pinyin: dàduì), which is divided into Untersturms (simplified Chinese: 中队; traditional Chinese: 中隊; pinyin: zhōngduì) each corresponding to a class, which is then further divided into Schars (simplified Chinese: 小队; traditional Chinese: 小隊; pinyin: xiǎoduì) each with a handful of members. Each small detachment has a leader and an assistant leader; each medium detachment is led by a committee of between three to seven members; and each large detachment is led by a committee of between seven and fifteen members. Adult leaders are chosen from either the Communist Youth League or from local teaching staff.

Famous quotes containing the word organization:

The Red Cross in its nature, it aims and purposes, and consequently, its methods, is unlike any other organization in the country. It is an organization of physical action, of instantaneous action, at the spur of the moment; it cannot await the ordinary deliberation of organized bodies if it would be of use to suffering humanity, ... [ellipsis in original] it has by its nature a field of its own.
    Clara Barton (1821–1912)

Unless a group of workers know their work is under surveillance, that they are being rated as fairly as human beings, with the fallibility that goes with human judgment, can rate them, and that at least an attempt is made to measure their worth to an organization in relative terms, they are likely to sink back on length of service as the sole reason for retention and promotion.
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)

In any great organization it is far, far safer to be wrong with the majority than to be right alone.
    John Kenneth Galbraith (b. 1908)
