The Kuzminskiy Wing
The Kuzminsky wing, like the house of Leo Tolstoy, was originally part of the large house built by Tolstoy's father. and later demolished. In 1859 Tolstoy turned it into a school for the peasant children of his estate, where he practiced his theories of education. After 1862 it became the home of the younger sister of his wife, Tatyana Andreyevna Kuzminskiy, and her family.

Famous quotes containing the word wing:
“No Ravens wing can stretch the flight so far
As the torn bandrols of Napoleons war.
Choose then your climate, fix your best abode,
Hell make you deserts and hell bring you blood.
How could you fear a dearth? have not mankind,
Tho slain by millions, millions left behind?
Has not conscription still the power to weild
Her annual faulchion oer the human field?
A faithful harvester!”
