Windows Aero

Windows Aero (a backronym for Authentic, Energetic, Reflective, and Open) is a set of interface and design guidelines used on Windows Vista and continued in Windows 7. The changes made in the Aero interface affected many elements of the Windows interface and how it functions, including the incorporation of a new visual look, along with changes in interface guidelines reflecting appearance, layout, and the phrasing and tone of instructions and other text in applications.

Famous quotes containing the word windows:

In winter we lead a more inward life. Our hearts are warm and cheery, like cottages under drifts, whose windows and doors are half concealed, but from whose chimneys the smoke cheerfully ascends.... We enjoy now, not an Oriental, but a Boreal leisure, around warm stoves and fireplaces, and watch the shadow of motes in the sunbeams.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
