Water Fluoridation - Evidence Basis

Evidence Basis

Existing evidence strongly suggests that water fluoridation reduces tooth decay. There is also consistent evidence that it causes dental fluorosis, most of which is mild and not usually of aesthetic concern. There is no clear evidence of other adverse effects. Famous quotes containing the words evidence and/or basis:

Strict rules of evidence would destroy psychoanalysis and literary criticism.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)

Adolescents, for all their self-involvement, are emerging from the self-centeredness of childhood. Their perception of other people has more depth. They are better equipped at appreciating others’ reasons for action, or the basis of others’ emotions. But this maturity functions in a piecemeal fashion. They show more understanding of their friends, but not of their teachers.
    Terri Apter (20th century)
