Vir Bahadur Singh was born inGorakhpur. He participated in Quit India movement in 1942.
He remained Chief Minister from 24 September 1985 till 25 June 1988.
He became Union Cabinet Minister of Communication in 1988.
He died on visit to paris in 1990.
His son has been the minister of state several times presently 'the forest minister of Uttar Pradesh from the Bahujan Samaj Party Fateh Bahadur Singh
