Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic

The Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (Uzbek: Ўзбек Совет Социалистик Республикаси, O`zbek Sovet Sotsialistik Respublikasi; Russian: Узбек Советская Социалистическая Республика, Uzbek Sovetskaya Sotsialisticheskaya Respublika), also known as the Uzbek SSR, was one of the republics of the Soviet Union. It was created in 1924. In December 1991, it became independent as the Republic of Uzbekistan.
