Urapakkam

Urapakkam (Tamil: ஊரப்பாக்கம்) is a census town in Kancheepuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The population was 13,445 during the 2001 Indian census.

Urapakkam is a fast growing locality among the southern suburbs of Chennai. Urapakkam is located in Kancheepuram District. It is situated on the National Highway 45, which is part of ‘Golden Quadrilateral’ National Highway Project. It is situated between Tambaram and Chengalpattu at a distance of 8 km from Tambaram and 21 km from Chengalpattu. The pincode for Urapakkam is 603210 (Urapakkam East) and 603211 (Urapakkam West). With the southern limit of Chennai Metropolitan Area expanded till Vandalur, Urapakkam has become the Gateway of South Chennai on GST Road.

Urapakkam has a Railway station and two Bus stops.
