Uniform 5-polytope - Regular 5-polytopes

Regular 5-polytopes

Regular 5-polytopes can be represented by the Schläfli symbol {p,q,r,s}, with s {p,q,r} polychoral facets around each face. There are exactly three such regular polytopes, all convex:

  • {3,3,3,3} - Hexateron (5-simplex)
  • {4,3,3,3} - Penteract (5-hypercube)
  • {3,3,3,4} - Pentacross (5-orthoplex)

There are no nonconvex regular polytopes in 5 or more dimensions.

Famous quotes containing the word regular:

While you’re playing cards with a regular guy or having a bite to eat with him, he seems a peaceable, good-humoured and not entirely dense person. But just begin a conversation with him about something inedible, politics or science, for instance, and he ends up in a deadend or starts in on such an obtuse and base philosophy that you can only wave your hand and leave.
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)
