Ulster Senior Club Hurling League

The Ulster Senior Club Hurling League is an annual hurling tournament played between a number of clubs administered by Ulster GAA. It is played in the early part of the year and is far less prestigious than the Ulster Senior Club Hurling Championship and many sides see it as a warm-up to their respective county leagues and championships. Famous quotes containing the words senior, club and/or league:

I suffer whenever I see that common sight of a parent or senior imposing his opinion and way of thinking and being on a young soul to which they are totally unfit. Cannot we let people be themselves, and enjoy life in their own way? You are trying to make that man another you. One’s enough.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

I spoke at a woman’s club in Philadelphia yesterday and a young lady said to me afterwards, “Well, that sounds very nice, but don’t you think it is better to be the power behind the throne?” I answered that I had not had much experience with thrones, but a woman who has been on a throne, and who is now behind it, seems to prefer to be on the throne.
    Anna Howard Shaw (1847–1919)

Stereotypes fall in the face of humanity. You toodle along, thinking that all gay men wear leather after dark and should never, ever be permitted around a Little League field. And then one day your best friend from college, the one your kids adore, comes out to you.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
