TIGR

TIGR, abbreviation for Trst (Trieste), Istra (Istria), Gorica (Gorizia) and Reka (Rijeka), with the full name Revolutionary Organization of the Julian March T.I.G.R. (Slovene: Revolucionarna organizacija Julijske krajine T.I.G.R.) was a militant anti-fascist and insurgent organization, established as response to the brutal Fascist Italianization of the Slovene minority in Italy (1920-1947) on the ex-Austro-Hungarian territories given to Italy in exchange for joining Great Britain in First World War and is considered to be one of the first anti-fascist resistance movements in Europe.
It was active between 1927 and 1941.
