Thurles

Thurles ( /ˈθɜrlɛs/ or /ˈtɜrləs/; Irish: Durlas or Durlas Éile, meaning "strong fort of Éile") is the second-largest town in North Tipperary, Ireland. It is located in Thurles civil parish in the barony of Eliogarty and in Thurles Roman Catholic parish in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. It is the site of the diocesan cathedral.
