Famous quotes containing the words texas, education and/or agency:

Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word. And there’s an opening convey of generalities. A Texan outside of Texas is a foreigner.
    John Steinbeck (1902–1968)

Strange as it may seem, no amount of learning can cure stupidity, and formal education positively fortifies it.
    Stephen Vizinczey (b. 1933)

It is possible that the telephone has been responsible for more business inefficiency than any other agency except laudanum.... In the old days when you wanted to get in touch with a man you wrote a note, sprinkled it with sand, and gave it to a man on horseback. But in these busy days of rush-rush-rush, it is sometimes a week before you can catch your man on the telephone.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)
