Malick is famously protective of his private life. His contracts stipulate that his likeness may not be used for promotional purposes, and he routinely declines requests for interviews.
From 1970 to 1976, Malick was married to Jill Jakes. From 1985 to 1998, he was married to Michele Morette. He is currently married to Alexandra "Eckie" Wallace.
Malick resides in Austin, Texas.
