Shout Records

Shout Records was a record label subsidiary of Bang Records, active between 1967 until 1972. When Bang was sold to Columbia Records the masters of Shout were also transferred.

Sony Records later bought the rights to public release of all artists who had worked for Shout.

Since 1999, the Shout Records name has been associated with a collectors' label distributed by Cherry Red Records in the United Kingdom. This Shout! Records specializes in reissues of Soul and R & B music from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, with repertoire sourced by Label Manager Clive Richardson, who also produces the projects and writes the booklet notes.

Famous quotes containing the words shout and/or records:

Every time an ashtray is missing from a hotel, they don’t come looking for you. But let a diamond bracelet disappear in France and they shout John Robie, the Cat. You don’t have to spend every day of your life proving your honesty, but I do.
    John Michael Hayes (b.1919)

The camera relieves us of the burden of memory. It surveys us like God, and it surveys for us. Yet no other god has been so cynical, for the camera records in order to forget.
    John Berger (b. 1926)
