Shin Bet

Sherut haBitachon haKlali (Hebrew: שירות הביטחון הכללי‎, General Security Service), better known by the acronym Shabak (Hebrew: שב״כ‎, Arabic: شاباك‎), in English as the Israel Security Agency (ISA) or the Shin Bet (a two-letter Hebrew abbreviation of the name), is Israel's internal security service. Its motto is "Magen VeLo Yera'e" (Hebrew: מגן ולא יראה‎, lit. "Defender that shall not be seen" or "The unseen shield"). It is one of three principal organizations of the Israeli Intelligence Community, alongside Aman (military intelligence) and the Mossad (foreign intelligence service).

Famous quotes containing the word bet:

Alicia Huberman: Look, I’ll make it easy for you. The time has come when you must tell me that you have a wife and two adorable children, and this madness between us can’t go on any longer.
T.R. Devlin: I bet you’ve heard that line often enough.
Alicia: Right below the belt every time. Oh that isn’t fair, Dev.
Devlin: Skip it. We have other things to talk about. We have a job.
