Famous quotes containing the words royal, irish and/or museum:

High from the summit of a craggy cliff,
Hung o’er the deep, such as amazing frowns
On utmost Kilda’s shore, whose lonely race
Resign the setting sun to Indian worlds,
The royal eagle draws his vigorous young
    James Thomson (1700–1748)

The next forenoon we went to Oldtown.... The Indian is said to cultivate the vices rather than the virtues of the white man. Yet this village was cleaner than I expected, far cleaner than such Irish villages as I have seen.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

A Museum of fetishes would give special attention to the history of underwear.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
