Rohilla

The Rohilla (Pashto روهیله Hindi: रोहिला) are a community of Urdu-speaking Pashtuns also known as Pathan, historically found in the state of Uttar Pradesh, in North India. Many are now also found in Pakistan where they are now part of the Muhajir community. At one time, they form one of the largest Pashtun diaspora community in India, and have given their name to the Rohilkhand region. Most members of Rohilla community migrated to Pakistan after independence and settled in Karachi, Sindh. Almost all of the Rohilla Pashtuns were registered as Urdu speakers in Pakistan.
