Paul Rauch

Paul Rauch is an American television and film producer.

In 2009 Paul Rauch was named “The Greatest Daytime Producer of All Time” by TV Guide Canada, while he served as co-executive producer of the #1 daytime show The Young & the Restless. That crowned his fifty-year career as a multiple Emmy-winning executive producer of such popular shows as Another World and Santa Barbara (NBC), One Life to Live (ABC), Guiding Light and Y&R (CBS). In addition, he produced the celebrated feature films Lover's Knot (Cannes Film festival) and Run the Wild Fields (Film Advisory Board Award, special honors at the Sarasota Film Festival, Emmy Best Family Film), the highly rated 100-episode primetime series Poor Nastya for Sony Pictures Int. and Russia 3, and was a Co-Creator and Executive Producer of the drama series Texas.

Rauch, whose name is usually preceded by “legendary,” is the rare producer who worked as an actor and director, with the eye of a first-rate photographer, and with great expertise in art, history, and music. He’s known as an innovator in his field, for paving the way and promoting a score of talented young assistants who now occupy high positions in the TV industry, and for starting the TV careers of many great theater directors such as Barnet Kellman.

His earlier jobs included Vice President, Programs-East Coast for CBS, Supervising Producer for Procter & Gamble, and Music Critic for an English-language edition of the Japanese Yumiuri Shimbun, a job he held in his mid-twenties.

Rauch is married to the concert pianist/playwright Israela Margalit and lives in New York.
