Only Sisters Can Do That - History

History

Only Sisters Can Do That is the last Pointer Sisters studio album made with founding member June Pointer, who died in 2006. The album was helmed by producer Peter Wolf and led by the single, "Don't Walk Away," which featured guest vocals by Michael McDonald. Other songs of note include "I Want Fireworks" and "Tell It to My Heart," both co-written by Anita Pointer, and the title track, penned by the sisters. Despite critical accolades, the album proved to a commercial disappointment.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

You treat world history as a mathematician does mathematics, in which nothing but laws and formulas exist, no reality, no good and evil, no time, no yesterday, no tomorrow, nothing but an eternal, shallow, mathematical present.
    Hermann Hesse (1877–1962)

If you look at the 150 years of modern China’s history since the Opium Wars, then you can’t avoid the conclusion that the last 15 years are the best 15 years in China’s modern history.
    J. Stapleton Roy (b. 1935)

I believe my ardour for invention springs from his loins. I can’t say that the brassiere will ever take as great a place in history as the steamboat, but I did invent it.
    Caresse Crosby (1892–1970)
