Relaunch As Nitro
In September 2009, (due to the rebranding of the Jetix TV channel as Disney XD) Jetix Magazine relaunched as Nitro (magazine). While the content of Nitro is very similar to that of Jetix Magazine, Nitro has no direct affiliation with any TV station or other organisation.
The relaunch saw a number of original comic strips not based on any existing TV brands. These include:
- Nick Nitro and Booster - The comic adventures of a boy and his alien puppy. Every story ends with Booster saving the day in some way by letting off wind. The strip is currently written by Cavan Scott with art from Toby Pearce
- Pirates of the A37 - The adventures of a crew of land-based Pirates.
- Krash Test Bunny - Originally a guest star in Nick Nitro and Booster, Krash received his own full-page strip in issue 106. His first strip, 'Cheesefinger' sees the character - a living Crash Test Dummy in the form of a rabbit, enlisted as Britain's top secret agent. The strip is currently written by Cavan Scott with art from Dave Windett
