Famous quotes containing the words early, years and/or studies:
“For the writer, there is nothing quite like having someone say that he or she understands, that you have reached them and affected them with what you have written. It is the feeling early humans must have experienced when the firelight first overcame the darkness of the cave. It is the communal cooking pot, the Street, all over again. It is our need to know we are not alone.”
—Virginia Hamilton (b. 1936)
“Mily: You must remember me!?
Tadeusz: I never remember pretty women. Its so expensive.
My friend, after twenty thousand years murder is still a business thats mainly in the hands of amateurs.”
—Orson Welles (19151985)
“...Womens Studies can amount simply to compensatory history; too often they fail to challenge the intellectual and political structures that must be challenged if women as a group are ever to come into collective, nonexclusionary freedom.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
