Life
Moshe Ya'ish al-Nahari, a 30 year old father of nine, lived in the small Jewish community of Raydah, Amran province in northern Yemen. He worked as Hebrew teacher at the local Jewish school and as a butcher. He was married to Loza Solaiman. His brother is Rabbi Yahya Ya'ish, one of the leaders of Yemen's Jewish community. al-Nahari had visited Israel a few times, and at one point had lived for a time in the Oshiyot neighborhood of Rehovot, but later returned to Yemen. A few years before his death, he decided to make aliyah and had sold his house to fund the move. At the last moment his father convinced him to stay in Yemen. He had ties to the Satmar Hasidic movement in Yemen.

Famous quotes containing the word life:
“In everyone there sleeps
A sense of life lived according to love.
To some it means the difference they could make
By loving others, but across most it sweeps
As all they might have done had they been loved.
That nothing cures.”
—Philip Larkin (19221986)
“Thats playgirl stuff, Brownie. Ive seen them in London, Paris, Rome. They start life in a New York nightclub and end up covering the world like a paid advertisement. Not an honest feeling from her kneecap to her neck.”
—John Lee Mahin (19021984)
“I have spent so long erecting partitions around the part of me that writeslearning how to close the door on it when ordinary life intervenes, how to close the door on ordinary life when its time to start writing againthat Im not sure I could fit the two parts of me back together now.”
—Anne Tyler (b. 1941)
