The McLaren Group, based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey, England, is a group of companies created by Ron Dennis, described by the International Herald Tribune as "a small conglomerate". The Group was originally formed from the team established by New Zealander Bruce McLaren in 1963 and is now focused around the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One Racing Team. The company hopes to expand its market from Formula One to manufacturing cars as it prepares to launch the successor to the McLaren F1, the McLaren P1. In recent years, the group has branched out to other precision manufacturing areas, such as motorized devices for the solar and wind industries.

Famous quotes containing the words mclaren and/or group:
“Our culture has become something that is completely and utterly in love with its parent. Its become a notion of boredom that is bought and sold, where nothing will happen except that people will become more and more terrified of tomorrow, because the new continues to look old, and the old will always look cute.”
—Malcolm McLaren (b. 1946)
“Caprice, independence and rebellion, which are opposed to the social order, are essential to the good health of an ethnic group. We shall measure the good health of this group by the number of its delinquents. Nothing is more immobilizing than the spirit of deference.”
—Jean Dubuffet (19011985)
