In July 2000, Raja Aghbariya, a resident of Umm Al-Fahm in the "Triangle" and head of Abnaa el-Balad, was interviewed in the Arab-language weekly Kul Al-Arab. Aghbariya said he is "prepared to give up the National Insurance allowance and Israeli democracy to be united with the land and people of Palestine." Famous quotes containing the words poll and/or residents:
“If Rosa Parks had taken a poll before she sat down in that bus in Montgomery, shed still be standing.”
—Mary Frances Berry (b. 1938)
“Most of the folktales dealing with the Indians are lurid and romantic. The story of the Indian lovers who were refused permission to wed and committed suicide is common to many places. Local residents point out cliffs where Indian maidens leaped to their death until it would seem that the first duty of all Indian girls was to jump off cliffs.”
—For the State of Iowa, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
